Kick off your weekend with an evening of chamber music at The University of Tampa. On Friday, Feb. 8, the University will welcome Mirage Piano Trio for a free concert. The program, which includes works by Debussy, Mendelssohn and Bach, begins at 7:30 p.m. in Plant Hall, Fletcher Lounge.

Mirage Piano Trio is comprised of Nina Kim, violin; Edevaldo Mulla, cello; and Andi Zdrava, piano.

Don’t miss The University of Tampa’s popular Spring Dance Concert, which will be performed on Thursday and Friday, Feb. 14–15, at 8 p.m. and Saturday, Feb. 16, at 2 and 8 p.m. All performances will be in UT’s Falk Theatre, 428 W. Kennedy Blvd., and are free and open to the public.

“The Spring Dance Concert is always a fulfilling artistic experience for both the students and the audience,” said Susannah LeMarquand, assistant professor of dance and director of the UT dance program. “The depth of work that is created by all of the choreographers on the program will bring out a range of emotions from the audience.”

On Tuesday, Feb. 12, The University of Tampa will welcome Bryony Gomez-Palacio, author of several design books and leader of design firm UnderConsideration, for a guest lecture as part of Tampa Bay Advertising Week. The lecture, entitled What If … , begins at 7 p.m. in the Scarfone/Hartley Gallery and is free and open to the public.

Gomez-Palacio and her husband, Armin Vit, are co-founders of the graphic design firm UnderConsideration, located in Bloomington, IN. Established in 2007, UnderConsideration generates their own projects, initiatives and content while taking on limited client work.

The University of Tampa will welcome award-winning jazz pianist, composer and accordionist Ben Rosenblum for a concert on Monday, Feb. 11. The event begins at 7:30 p.m. in the Sykes Chapel and Center for Faith and Values and will also feature the premiere of a new work by Bradford Blackburn, chair/associate professor of music. This event is free and open to the public. 

Rosenblum was described by Downbeat Magazine as someone who “caresses the music with the reverence it merits.” He has been touring nationally and internationally while collaborating with artists around the world since the release of his debut album, Instead, in 2017.

The University of Tampa TECO Energy Center for Leadership in the Sykes College of Business will present the 2019 Leadership Summit, “Leadership in Turbulent Times,” on Wednesday, Feb. 13. The event will be held from 7:15 a.m.–1 p.m. in the Crescent Club, located on the ninth floor of the Vaughn Center.

The Leadership Summit will kick off with a presentation by keynote speaker Jen Shirkani, an emotional intelligence speaker and author of Choose Resilience and Ego vs EQ
