The University of Tampa’s newest building, the Innovation and Collaboration Building, will receive a new name in recognition of longtime UT supporter Maureen A. Daly.

Daly, as announced by UT president Ronald L. Vaughn today, has been awarded this honor in recognition of her longtime service and financial support to the University.

The University of Tampa’s annual Juried Student Art Exhibition in the Scarfone/Hartley Gallery is an opportunity to see fresh, innovative work created by students. The exhibit opens Friday, March 25, and runs through April 20. There will be an opening reception at the gallery on Friday, March 25, from 7–9 p.m.

Included in the exhibition are paintings, drawings, prints, photographs, ceramics, sculpture, digital media, animations and mixed media.

On Sunday, April 3, The University of Tampa will welcome the Amernet String Quartet for the final concert in the 2015-2016 PNC Bank Concert Artist Series at the Sykes Chapel and Center for Faith and Values. Don’t miss this performance by a group the Cincinnati Enquirer called “one of America’s finest ensembles.” The performance begins at 2 p.m. and is free and open to the public.

Russell Williams, a producer, actor, sound recordist and the first African-American to win two Academy Awards, will give a free public lecture on his career and diversity in Hollywood on Thursday, March 24, at 7 p.m. at The University of Tampa.

The event will be held in Fletcher Lounge in Plant Hall on campus.

On Wednesday, March 30, The University of Tampa will host an interactive discussion on Free Speech on Campus. The event, which is part of the Ethics Hot Seat Speaker Series hosted by the UT Center for Ethics, begins at 5:30 p.m. in the Plant Hall Music Room and is free and open to the public.

On the hot seat will be Dan Verreault, UT associate professor of accounting and co-director of UT’s Center for Ethics, and guest speaker Catherine Sevcenko, director of litigation for the Foundation for Individual Rights in Education (FIRE).
