Amernet String Quartet to Close out 2015-2016 PNC Bank Concert Artist Series
On Sunday, April 3, The University of Tampa will welcome the Amernet String Quartet for the final concert in the 2015-2016 PNC Bank Concert Artist Series at the Sykes Chapel and Center for Faith and Values. Don’t miss this performance by a group the Cincinnati Enquirer called “one of America’s finest ensembles.” The performance begins at 2 p.m. and is free and open to the public.The quartet, comprised of violinists Misha Vitenson and Tomas Cotik, violist Michael Klotz and cellist Jason Calloway, is the ensemble-in-residence at Florida International University in Miami and previously held similar affiliations with Northern Kentucky University and the Cincinnati College Conservatory of Music.The ensemble has amassed exceptional credentials in performances across the Americas, and in Asia, Europe and the Middle East. They have collaborated with many of today’s most prominent artists and ensembles. In this performance, they will collaborate with pianist Grigorios Zamparas, UT associate professor of music.The program for the concert includes two landmark works of the chamber music repertoire: Franz Joseph Haydn’s String Quartet in C, Op. 76, No. 3, also known as the Emperor Quartet, and Antonin Dvorak’s Quintet for Piano and Strings in A, Op. 81.Doors open at 1:30 p.m.; seating is limited and available on a first-come, first-served basis.
