UT’S Annual Juried Student Art Exhibition Opens March 25

The University of Tampa’s annual Juried Student Art Exhibition in the Scarfone/Hartley Gallery is an opportunity to see fresh, innovative work created by students. The exhibit opens Friday, March 25, and runs through April 20. There will be an opening reception at the gallery on Friday, March 25, from 7–9 p.m.

Included in the exhibition are paintings, drawings, prints, photographs, ceramics, sculpture, digital media, animations and mixed media.

Open to any UT student, the exhibition is juried and judged by Karen Kunc, professor of art at the University of Nebraska, Lincoln. Outstanding individual students from the Juried Student Art Exhibition will be selected to receive cash awards from the Las Damas de Arte and the Friends of the Gallery. The University will also honor the Friends of the Gallery and present the 2016 Patron gift by Aneka Ingold.

The gallery is located on campus at the R. K. Bailey Art Studios at 310 N. Blvd. Gallery hours are 10 to 4 p.m., Tuesday through Friday and 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday. There is no charge for admission.

Programs are made possible with the support of the Arts Council of Hillsborough County, the Hillsborough County Board of County Commissioners and The University of Tampa Friends of the Gallery.

The Women, Gender and Sexuality Studies minor at UT offers students a chance to explore how class, age, region, religion, history, race and more affect gender and sexuality.
Student dancers from UT will take the stage in the annual Spring Dance Concert on Thursday, Feb. 15, through Saturday, Feb. 17, in Falk Theatre.
