Founder of the Heartdance Foundation up Next on the “Ethics Hot Seat”
On Wednesday, April 3, Dotti Groover-Skipper, founder of the HeartDance Foundation, will be in the spotlight for UT’s Ethics Hot Seat Speaker Series, hosted by the Center for Ethics of the Sykes College of Business. The event begins at 6 p.m. in Reeves Theater on the second floor of the Vaughn Center on campus.
Dotti Groover-Skipper, founder of the HeartDance Foundation, will be in the spotlight for UT’s Ethics Hot Seat Speaker Series, hosted by the Center for Ethics of the Sykes College of Business.
The presentation is titled “Human Trafficking: A Trafficking Expert Shares Knowledge About the Ongoing Issue.” In Groover-Skipper’s career, she has influenced positive policy change for issues such as substance abuse, addiction and sex trafficking and founded the HeartDance Foundation to aid in the recovery of survivors of these experiences. A few of her recent achievements include selection as one of “100 Women to Know in America” by the national KNOW Women organization, a lifetime achievement award from the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office and delivering a TEDx Talk about human trafficking.
Along with Center for Ethics co-directors Robert Marley, associate professor of accounting, and Ashley Salaiz, assistant professor of management, Groover-Skipper will spend the evening navigating ethical situations and how to engage communities in justice and human rights.
The event is free and open to the public, but attendees are required to register at ut.edu/centerforethics. The next event in this series will take place in the fall semester.
