Diverse Group of Business Leaders to Speak at Next BNS Jan. 28

The heads of Bayshore Solutions, Toffee to Go Inc. and the Tampa Bay Rays are slated to speak at the next Business Network Symposium on Tuesday, Jan. 28, at The University of Tampa. The event begins with a continental breakfast at 7:15 a.m. with the program running from 7:45–9 a.m. on the 9th floor of the Vaughn Center.

The symposium is free and open to the public.

Kevin Hourigan is president and CEO of Bayshore Solutions, a digital marketing and website development firm. Hourigan has piloted Bayshore Solutions to earn an impressive roster of clients and help those companies grow through Web technology and strategic online marketing.

Jim and Lisa Schalk have grown Toffee to Go from a family recipe to a prosperous business that employs more than 30 people during the holiday season. Their handmade artisan toffee has earned numerous awards over their 11 years in business, including being chosen as one of Oprah’s Favorite Things in the December 2013 issue of O, The Oprah Magazine.

Matt Silverman has served as president of the Tampa Bay Rays since 2005. He oversees a front office that is known for its ingenuity, resourcefulness and continuity. Including its 2008 World Series berth, the Rays have posted six consecutive winning seasons and have made the playoffs four times during that stretch, a feat matched only by the St. Louis Cardinals.

The event is hosted by The University of Tampa Board of Fellows, and the presenting sponsor is LCG. Other sponsors include the Tampa Bay Business Journal and Sodexo Campus Services.

The Board of Fellows holds this networking event three times a year to allow businesses that are well known, changing or new to the Tampa Bay area the opportunity to share their accomplishments and plans with the business community.
