UT Advertising Students Win for Creativity at District Competition

Students in UT’s advertising campaigns course won the Best Creative award at the Fourth District National Student Advertising Competition (NSAC) last weekend in Jacksonville, FL.

The students spent the past semester developing an ad campaign for Glidden Paint, this year's NSAC client. They titled their entry "Be Brilliant."

The team presenting the campaign at the NSAC consisted of Sarah Edmiston, Alvaro G. Gabaldon, Brie Reinsant, Samantha Rosenbaum and Kellee Thomas.

Gracieli Scremin, assistant professor of communication and team advisor, said this is the first year UT participated in the NSAC competition, which is the biggest student advertising competition in the country.

“I'm so proud of the students and especially the presenting team for working so hard to develop and pitch an outstanding ad campaign,” Scremin said. “This win helps place UT's advertising program on the map, so to speak, of advertising schools; especially among those with a creative bent.”

Other schools that participated in the competition include Northwood University, University of South Florida, Florida State University, Ringling College of Art and Design, Miami International University of Art & Design and the University of Miami.

The NSAC is sponsored by the American Advertising Foundation.
