The University of Tampa’s Spring 2019 Honors Program symposia series kicks off on Monday, Jan. 28, with Noah Oakley, recipient of the Timothy M. Smith Inspiration Through Exploration Award. His presentation begins at noon in the Crescent Club on the ninth floor of the Vaughn Center. Throughout the series, resident scholars and researchers at the University as well as guest speakers will present in their areas of specialization. Guest speakers in the series include Mario Chard, author of the award-winning Land of Fire; Jaime Harker, professor of English and the director of the Sarah Isom Center for Women and Gender Studies at the University of Mississippi; and Kareem Khubchandani, the Mellon Bridge Assistant Professor in the Department of Drama and Dance and the Program in Women’s, Gender and Sexuality Studies at Tufts University.All lectures are free, open to the public and held on the UT campus, 401 W.
