March 31 UT Faculty Recital Features Classical Piano Works

Duncan Macmillan, part-time professor of music at The University of Tampa, will perform a piano recital on Sunday, March 31. The recital begins at 3 p.m. in the Sykes Chapel and Center for Faith and Values and is free and open to the public.

Macmillan will perform works written by the classical composer Franz Schubert and will feature sonatas and other piano works.

Macmillan is an active solo pianist, harpsichordist, chamber musician and composer. He teaches piano, harpsichord and music history at UT and has served on the artist faculty of The University of Tampa summer piano camps.

Macmillan’s compositions have been commissioned, recorded and performed internationally and have been featured on NPR. He has maintained a private piano studio since 1977 and has premiered works by many composers, some which were written or commissioned specifically for him.
