The University of Tampa’s Sykes College of Business Hall of Fame Speaker Series, featuring Raymond James founder Tom James and Tampa Bay Lightning owner Jeff Vinik, will be broadcast on WEDU PBS (check local listings) on Thursday, Nov. 27, at 8:30 p.m., and Sunday, Nov. 30, at 1 p.m.
In the show, titled “Matching Wits with Wall Street with Tom James and Jeff Vinik,” Vinik and James discuss their personal strategies for success; competition in business, sports and investing; and enriching a community while growing a business.
James built Raymond James Financial from a small local investment firm into one of America's largest full-service investment firms, with 14,000 employees around the world. He's a rock-solid entrepreneur in an industry that's ever changing.
Vinik managed the Fidelity Magellan Fund, the world's largest mutual fund, at age 33. Four years later, he started one of the nation's largest and most successful hedge funds. Now, he's turned his passion into hockey and real estate development.
This special episode of WEDU’s
Suncoast Business Forum, which was recorded live at UT’s Falk Theatre in October, is moderated by host Geoff Simon.
