Andreas Klein has been called a “pianist who makes silences sound like music” (
New York Times). On Saturday, Jan. 24, The University of Tampa will welcome Klein for a piano recital at 7:30 p.m. in Plant Hall’s Grand Salon. The concert is free and open to the public.
The program for the concert, titled
From Austria to Argentina, will include works by Mozart, Chopin, Busoni, Stravinsky and Ginastera.
Klein is a graduate of the Juilliard School and received a doctorate from Rice University. He has performed in some of the world’s most prestigious venues as an orchestra soloist and recitalist, including London’s Wigmore Hall, Berlin’s Philharmonic Hall, New York’s Carnegie Hall and Alice Tully Hall, and Washington, D.C.’s Kennedy Center. He tours extensively throughout the U.S., Canada, Europe and Mexico. As a chamber musician, he has performed Mozart’s Concerto KV415 and the string orchestra version of Beethoven Concerto No. 4 with the Salzburg Chamber Soloists throughout the U.S. and in Mexico.
