UT To Host Five Concerts on Upcoming Fall Weekend, Oct. 7-9
The University of Tampa’s Department of Music will kick off its annual concert season with several performances on Fall Weekend, taking place Oct. 7-9. All events are free and open to the public.

Friday, Oct. 7:
- First Friday at Noon Organ Recital Series, Noon, Sykes Chapel and Center for Faith and Values. This concert will feature Thomas Ingui, organist at First Presbyterian Church in Lakeland, FL. Events in this series will take place every first Friday of the month at noon in the Sykes Chapel throughout the academic year.
- Family Weekend Choral Concert. 7:30 p.m., Sykes Chapel and Center for Faith and Values. This concert will feature students in the University Concert Chorus. The choirs are directed by Ryan Hebert, chair and professor of music; Deah McReynolds, part-time music faculty; and Rodney Shores, lecturer of voice.
Saturday, Oct. 8
- Family Weekend Choral Concert, 2 p.m., Sykes Chapel and Center for Faith and Values. This concert will feature students in the University Concert Chorus and Treble Chorus, Camerata and Chamber singers. The choirs are directed by Ryan Hebert, chair and professor of music; Deah McReynolds, part-time music faculty; and Rodney Shores, lecturer of voice.
- Ars Sonora Dedication and Opening Concert, 7:30 p.m., Sykes Plaza. The 63-bell sculpture will be played from a remote piano keyboard by Josh Cessna, Ars Sonora curator, accompanied by the UT faculty bass ensemble and various other faculty members and students.
Sunday, Oct. 9
- Korean Art Song and Opera Aria Concert, 2 p.m., Sykes Chapel and Center for Faith and Values. As part of the Damron Concert Series, renowned Korean-American opera singers Misook Yun and Ryu-Kyung Kim, pianist Seolyeoung Jeong and music professor Hein Jung will perform. Other performances this semester include Kemal Gekic on the piano at 2 p.m. on Nov. 6 and the annual Holiday Choral Concert at 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. on Dec. 4.
