The University of Tampa is teaming up with LinkedIn to give UT students a starting point for exploring the first stage of their professional career with the LinkedIn Students app, a personal job exploration guide.
As part of the partnership, students can explore both LinkedIn and jobs posted on HIRE-UT, UT’s career management system, all within the app.
The LinkedIn Students app helps graduates to find jobs by giving career advice based on their location and major. The app provides tailored, jobs-related recommendations based on real data from the career paths of hundreds of millions of successful professionals. Students can use these insights to discover and explore career opportunities.
With the app, students can:
- Discover the best jobs and companies, based on career paths of similar UT alumni;
- Be the first to hear about and apply to jobs matched to their background;
- Read tips on resumes, interviews and more from top career experts on LinkedIn.
Every day, new personalized tips will arrive in the app so students can easily stay ahead in their process of taking that next career step.
Mark Colvenbach, director of UT Career Services, said he believes the app will help UT students be competitive in the job market by being better informed and prepared.
“Finding a job you like can be hard,” Colvenbach said. “But we believe our partnership with LinkedIn will help students be more competitive in their job searches by being better informed and prepared.”
LinkedIn first piloted the app at San Jose State University and the University of Central Florida. The new LinkedIn Students app is available for iOS and Android.
