The University of Tampa Orchestra will perform its final concert of the fall semester on Tuesday, Dec. 4, at 7:30 p.m. in Plant Hall’s Fletcher Lounge. There will be a pre-concert discussion at 6:45 p.m. about the music to be performed during the evening.
The concert is free and open to the public.
The program includes works by Franz Schubert, Richard Wagner, Giuseppe Verdi and Otto Nicolai. Soprano Hein Jung, assistant professor of music and director of vocal studies, will join the orchestra in performing “Baïlèro” from Joseph Canteloube’s
Chants d’Auvergne.
The UT orchestra is comprised of 57 members from the University and Tampa communities. The orchestra includes 25 UT students with majors ranging from music to nursing, psychology, English, writing and business. The orchestra is conducted by Kira Horel, assistant professor of music and director of orchestral and string studies.
