The moon, the Orion Nebula (star-forming region), double-star systems, star clusters (Pleiades) and more will be viewed through telescopes during the UT astronomy faculty’s star party on Monday, Nov. 23.
The party will be held on the top floor of the West Parking Garage on campus from 10 p.m. to midnight, and the public is welcome.
In the event of cloudy or otherwise poor weather, the Spartan Star Party may be canceled. Keep an eye on the weather and check the UT Astronomy Twitter feed (
@ut_starparty) for updates. The Twitter feed will also provide information about objects being observed, as well as astronomy news.
The astronomy faculty plan to hold star parties monthly.
