Meridith Klein, a University of Tampa accounting student, was selected as the winner of an essay competition sponsored by the West Florida Chapter of Information Systems Audit and Control Association (ISACA).

Klein's paper, “Cobit 4.1 Heightens SOX Compliance,” illustrates how the CobiT 4.1 framework may be used to address specific Sarbanes-Oxley Act compliance concerns.

Submissions were judged by a panel of information technology audit professionals who currently serve as board members of the West Florida ISACA Chapter Academics Committee and were evaluated based on originality, relevance, demonstrated understanding of subject matter, clarity, organization and grammar.

Klein received a $1,000 award and a one-year membership to the West Florida ISACA Chapter. Her essay will be featured on the West Florida ISACA website and in the chapter’s next newsletter.
