Lineup for UT’s Honors Program Spring Symposia Series Announced

The University of Tampa’s Spring 2016 Honors Program symposia series kicks off on Thursday, Jan. 28, with a presentation by Ryan Cragun, associate professor of sociology. His talk, titled No One Expects a Transgender Jew: Religious, Sexual and Gendered Intersections, begins at noon in Reeves Theater on the second floor of the Vaughn Center.

Throughout the series, resident scholars and researchers at the University will present in their areas of specialization. Guest speakers in the series include Emma Rees, professor of literature and gender studies at the University of Chester, U.K; Todd Swanstrom, author and Des Lee professor of community collaboration and public policy administration at the University of Missouri; and Renio Diaz Triana, Centro de Investigaciones de Politicas Internacionales, Havana, Cuba.

All lectures are free, open to the public and held on the UT campus, 401 W. Kennedy Blvd. For a full schedule, see below:

Rian Benoit traded in a winter of sun-lit palm trees and swinging hammocks for cold stone, piping-hot tea and the opportunity of a lifetime to study last year at the University of Oxford, through the UT Honors Program.
Jasmine M. Villavicencio ’24 spent six weeks in Indonesia this summer, studying biodiversity and conservation and learning the Bahasa Indonesian and Javanese languages.
AnneLiese Busch will be responsible for providing strategic vision and administrative leadership for UT’s Office of International Programs.
