Studio Music Lessons – Voice
Rodney Shores specializes in vocal pedagogy and instruction, particularly as related to choral music and choral music education. His research and teaching interests include the development of the adolescent voice, healthy vocal technique in modern singing, and renaissance and baroque choral performance practice.
Shores is a music educator, performer, choral conductor, clinician and lecturer, and has more than 27 years of teaching experience at the elementary, middle/high-school and university levels.
Over the last several years, Shores has sung with Tampa’s own Florida Pro Musica, an auditioned ensemble specializing in renaissance polyphony, along with its men’s schola, which specializes in the performance of Gregorian chant. Additionally, he has been highly involved with the St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church choir in downtown Tampa, where he served as a tenor section leader for three years, and as its choirmaster for two.
Shores also conducts Serata, an advanced high-school men’s chorus, as part of Tampa Bay’s Lumina Youth Choirs, is principal accompanist for the Master Chorale of Tampa Bay, and has maintained a private voice and piano studio for over 27 years.
