Dean Koutroumanis specializes in entrepreneurship, small business strategy and organizational behavior.Professional and Community Activities
Dean Koutroumanis' research interests include the development of human capital and the impact employees have on organizations. He has published several articles and cases in peer reviewed journals including, the Journal of Organizational Culture, Communication and Conflict, Journal of Applied Business Research, Journal of Applied Business and Economics and the Small Business Institute Journal. Additionally, he has authored a chapter in the Handbook of Hospitality and Tourism: Human Resource Management. His current research involves the relationship organizational culture has on employee commitment in the hospitality industry.Koutroumanis has enjoyed a long career in the hospitality industry, both at the corporate level and as an entrepreneur. He has developed and launched several business enterprises ranging from restaurants to real estate development projects. He has also served as a director for several Tampa Bay organizations including nonprofit companies. Additionally, he is an evaluator for the Bailey Family Foundation, which provides scholarship opportunities for students across the U.S.
