Career Specialties
Nate Johnston is a native of South Florida, a member of the UT Hall of Fame, a former NBA player and a highly accomplished international athlete. Since 2007, he has been working in the mental health field with various populations such as college students, professionals, youth prevention programs, at-risk teenage populations and substance abuse treatment settings.
In his role at the University, he works in various roles where he focuses on the well-being of our student and student-athlete populations providing unique insights and awareness of the adversity that affects the well-being and performance within the classroom and sports arena. Johnston also helps members of the student-athlete population with bridging the gap between college athletics, professional athletics or life after sports upon graduation.
Areas of specialization: co-occurring mental health and substance abuse treatment, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, holistic well-being, spiritual support, and individual and team performance.
