Frank Ghannadian specializes in international business and finance, financial institutions and investing.
Professional and Community Activities
Frank Ghannadian joined the UT community in July 2007 as the dean of the Sykes College of Business. During his tenure he has achieved three reaffirmations in 2008, 2013 and 2018, in addition to ABET accreditation for the MIS program.
During his time as dean, College of Business enrollment has more than doubled at The University of Tampa. In 2018, the Sykes College of Business was ranked number 85 by Bloomberg Businessweek for full-time U.S. MBA programs and ranked number 7 in learning and 34 in entrepreneurship. Ghannadian currently serves on the AACSB initial accreditation committee (IAC), the editorial board of Biz Ed magazine, as well as several advisory boards for nonprofit groups. Formerly, Ghannadian served on the board and as president of the Southern Business Administration Association (SBAA).
Previously, Ghannadian served as interim dean, associate dean, chief operating officer and professor of finance at the Stetson School of Business and Economics at Mercer University. While at Mercer, Ghannadian founded and developed the executive MBA and initiated two new Master of Science programs. During his tenure at Mercer, he developed various offsite MBA programs for Bellsouth and Dekalb Medical and initiated the School of Business speaker series.
He began his academic career as an instructor at Georgia State University after completing his doctorate from the College of Business Administration.
Ghannadian has served on editorial boards of major business journals and his publications have appeared in more than 50 outlets, including the International Journal of Social Economics, European Business Review and Journal of Economic Development. He is the author of a leadership book, Leadership and Ideas which have shaped the Modern Economic World.
Honors and Awards
During his academic career, Ghannadian has received numerous awards for scholarship, service and teaching and is a leader in promoting executive education outreach centers and activities which make an impact on society. Currently at The University of Tampa, Ghannadian supports the activities of five centers and institutes: The TECO Energy Center for Leadership, The Center for Ethics, The Naimoli Institute for Business Strategy, The Lowth Entrepreneurship Center and the Institute for Sales Excellence.
Ghannadian has mentored many business schools to receive national and international accreditation and currently teaches the Business Accreditation (BAS) and Continuous Improvement (CIR) seminars for AACSB. In addition he has chaired and served as a member of many accreditation review teams.
He is a member of the Society for International Business Fellows (SIBF), Omicron Delta Epsilon, Phi Kappa Phi and the International Business Honor Society.
