Career Specialties
As the associate dean of wellness, Gina Firth supervises all areas of student wellness on The University of Tampa campus, including The Health and Counseling Center, Campus Recreation, Wellness Center and BASICS, which is the alcohol and other drug student assistance program. In addition, Firth chairs the Resource Team for Faith, Values and Spirituality, is a member of the Student of Concern team, the Employee Wellness Committee and Vice Chair of Healthy Campus 2020. Primary areas of specialization are alcohol and other drug issues, interfaith dialogue, wellness initiatives and is a nationally certified counselor. She advises several student organizations, including Better Together and Active Minds, and has been trained as a both a mediator and victim advocate in the State of Florida. Firth is also American Red Cross CPR/AED trained and certified.Professional and Community Activities
Firth is very active in the community. She is a board member of the Hillsborough County Anti-Drug Alliance and member of the Hillsborough County Tobacco Free Partnership, Tampa Alcohol Coalition, Marijuana Task Force and Wellness Coalition of Tampa Bay. She also served as chair of the Tobacco Free Partnership from 2001-2013.Honors and Awards
