Special Topics in Biology
Kevin Beach's research in marine plant physiology emphasizes evaluating and modeling the role of abiotic factors in primary productivity of coastal zones. He also pursues supply side-ecology to determine the role of sexual reproduction and dispersal on the population structure of marine plants.
His current work focuses on the role that seaweeds play in the ecology of the Florida Keys reef track, and he has published numerous papers and presented talks on his research on marine algae in the Florida Keys and Hawaii.
Beach involves undergraduate students in his research on the ecology of macroalgae in seagrass beds.
Beach conducts research in the Florida Keys with NOAA's National Undersea Research Program and in Hawaii on primary productivity in coastal zones
