Students who wish to earn academic credit for their internship must first verify that their internship is pre-approved for credit within their major. Please schedule an appointment with a career coach in the Office of Career Services to see if your internship is approved for credit. If your internship is not yet pre-approved for credit, you will be provided with next steps at your career services appointment to try and get the internship approved.
Each major has specific guidelines and requirements that students must meet in order to obtain academic credit for an internship experience. Consult with career services and your faculty internship coordinator to confirm prerequisites.
If you are completing an internship for academic credit, but something doesn't work out during the semester, please notify the Office of Career Services at firstname.lastname@example.org and your faculty internship coordinator ASAP!
- Students who are unable to complete the internship due to no fault of their own (e.g. sexual harassment, injury, etc.) should discuss their options with their faculty internship coordinator. The faculty member will work with you to make alternative arrangements so that you are not penalized.
- The University of Tampa is committed to providing a work and educational environment that is free from unlawful harassment, discrimination and mistreatment.
