Congratulations, Spartans, and welcome to your new home at The University of Tampa (UT)! We are excited that you have chosen to be a part of the UT community. Your undergraduate experience begins here with orientation.
We know that coming to college for the first time is an exciting and important time. UT is dedicated to making sure your transition is one of a kind and offers a hybrid orientation program to help you successfully transition into our community. From your first semester to subsequent years at UT, our orientation program will provide you with information on how to be successful at our University, expose you to University resources, and connect you to new and current students. In addition, our orientation team, comprised of dedicated and enthusiastic student leaders, will assist you throughout the program, help you navigate the campus and answer questions you may have about UT.
Your fUTure starts here!
As a new student, you will have the opportunity to get to know your campus prior to your arrival by completing UT's online orientation program. This program has been specifically designed with YOU in mind! From navigating academics to getting involved on campus, this program will help you familiarize yourself with the many resources available to you as a Spartan. The online orientation program is currently available and must be completed prior to your arrival on campus.
New Student Residential Check-In
All new students starting in the fall semester, both residential and commuters, are expected to check in to the University. Residential check-in will be from Aug. 25—27. The Office of Residence Life will share information on how to register for a move-in time this summer. During check-in, you will receive your Spartan ID card as well as other important information.
New Student Commuters
Commuter Orientation Check-In
New students who will be living off-campus will need to check in to orientation to receive their Spartan ID card and other important information. Check-in will take place Aug. 27—29 from 4-8 p.m. in the Vaughn Center, Spartan Club, second floor. Appointments are not required.
New Student Commuter Orientation
The university recognizes that commuter students have different needs as they transition to campus than residential students. Commuter students are encouraged to view the new student commuter orientation video to learn about campus resources.
Week of Welcome (WOW!)
During your first week on campus, all new students are encouraged to participate in Week of Welcome (WOW!). The Fall 2021 WOW! will be held from Aug. 25-Sept. 6 and will feature programs that consist of presentations, workshops and social events designed to ensure you successfully transition to campus. Check out the main orientation page for the most recent schedule.
In addition to the new student online orientation program and WOW!, international students will arrive for a special new international student orientation prior to the regular new student orientation program. This also applies to new graduate international students within the Office of Graduate and Continuing Studies.
