Congratulations, Spartans, and welcome to your new home at The University of Tampa!
Whether you are transferring from a local community college, an in-state four-year institution or an out-of-state four-year institution, we are excited for you to begin your journey as a UT Spartan! We know that you have prior college experience, and UT has designed your orientation program to meet your needs and help you be successful during your transition to your new campus.
Our orientation program is also designed to help assist family members in participating and understanding their students' experience during this exciting time. For more information regarding Family Orientation, visit the Family Orientation website.
Your fUTure starts here!
As a new transfer student, you will have the opportunity to get to know your campus prior to your arrival by completing UT's online orientation program. This program has been specifically designed with YOU in mind! From navigating academics to getting involved on campus, this program will help you familiarize yourself with the many resources available to you as a Spartan. The online orientation program will be available beginning Dec. 1 and must be completed prior to your arrival on campus.
New Transfer Student Check-In
All new students starting in the spring semester, both residential and commuters, are expected to check in to the University on Friday, Jan. 15. During check-in, you will receive your Spartan ID card as well as other important information.
Starting at 9 a.m., residential students can check in at their assigned residence hall, and commuter students can check in at the Vaughn Information Desk, located in the Vaughn Center Lobby.
Throughout the day on Friday, Jan. 15, students are encouraged to complete all check-in-related tasks as outlined in their orientation schedules.
Week of Welcome (WOW!)
During your first week on campus, all new transfer students are encouraged to participate in Week of Welcome (WOW!). WOW! will feature programs that consist of presentations, workshops and social events designed to ensure you successfully transition to campus. Check out the main orientation page for the most recent schedule!
In addition to the new student online orientation program and WOW!, international students will arrive for a special new international student orientation prior to the regular new student orientation program. This also applies to new graduate international students within the Office of Graduate and Continuing Studies.
