Congratulations, Spartans, and welcome to your new home at The University of Tampa!
Whether you are transferring from a local community college, an in-state four-year institution or an out-of-state four-year institution, we are excited for you to begin your journey as a UT Spartan! We know that you have prior college experience, and UT has designed your hybrid orientation program to meet your needs and help you be successful during your transition to your new campus. From your first semester to subsequent years at UT, our online orientation and Welcome Week program will provide you with information on how to succeed at our University, expose you to University resources, and connect you to new and current students. In addition, our orientation team, comprised of dedicated and enthusiastic student leaders, will assist you throughout the program, help you navigate the campus, and answer questions you may have about UT.

Your fUTure starts here!
As a new transfer student, you will have the opportunity to get to know your campus prior to your arrival by completing UT's online orientation program. This program has been specifically designed with YOU in mind! From navigating academics to getting involved on campus, this program will help you familiarize yourself with the many resources available to you as a Spartan. The online orientation program will be available beginning Aug. 1 through your MyUTampa account and must be completed to your arrival on campus.
New Transfer Student Residential Check-In
All new students starting in the fall semester, both residential and commuters, are expected to check in to the University on during move-in weekend. Move-in weekend will be held from Aug. 25-27. The Office of Residence Life will share information about how to register for residential move-in this summer. During check-in, you will receive your Spartan ID card as well as other important information.
New Student Commuter
Commuter Orientation Check-In
New students who will be living off-campus will need to check in to orientation to receive their Spartan ID card and other important information. Check-in will take place Aug. 27-29 from 4-8 p.m. in the Vaughn Center, Spartan Club, 2nd floor. Appointments are not required.
The university recognizes that our commuter student community may have different needs in their transition to campus than residential students. Commuter students are encouraged to view the commuter student orientation video to learn more about resources and important dates for this important population.
Week of Welcome (WOW!)
During your transition to campus, all new students are encouraged to participate in Week of Welcome (WOW!). WOW! will feature programs that consist of presentations, workshops and social events designed to ensure you successfully transition to campus. Make sure to check out the Fall 2021 Week of Welcome schedule to plan what events you want to attend!
In addition to the new student online program and WOW!, transfer students on F1 visas will arrive for a special new international student orientation program. This also applies to new graduate international students within the Office of Graduate and Continuing Studies.
