Congratulations, Spartans, and welcome to your new home at The University of Tampa!
Whether you are transferring from a local community college, an in-state four-year institution or an out-of-state four-year institution, we are excited for you to begin your journey as a UT Spartan! We know that you have prior college experience, and UT has designed your hybrid orientation program to meet your needs and help you be successful during your transition to your new campus. From your first semester to subsequent years at UT, our online orientation and Welcome Week program will provide you with information on how to succeed at our University, expose you to University resources, and connect you to new and current students. In addition, our orientation team, comprised of dedicated and enthusiastic student leaders, will assist you throughout the program, help you navigate the campus and answer questions you may have about UT.
Our orientation program is also designed to help assist family members in participating and understanding their students' experience during this exciting time! For more information regarding registering for Family Orientation and information on the host hotel, please visit the Family Orientation webpage.
Your fUTure starts here!
As a new transfer student, you will have the opportunity to get to know your campus prior to your arrival by completing UT's online orientation program. This program has been specifically designed with YOU in mind! From navigating academics to getting involved on campus, this program will help you familiarize yourself with the many resources available to you as a Spartan. The online orientation program is now available through your MyUTampa account and must be completed to your arrival on campus.
New Transfer Student Check-In
New student check-in will be Friday, Sept. 4 and Saturday, Sept. 5, 2020. During check-in, you will receive your Spartan ID card as well as other important information.
More information about move-in and check-in for residential and commuter students will be announced.
Throughout the check-in process, students are encouraged to complete all check-in related tasks as outlined in the online orientation program. A mandatory residence hall floor meeting will occur in the evening for all residential students followed by a social program for all students.
Week of Welcome (WOW!)
During your beginnings on campus, all new students are encouraged to participate in Week of Welcome (WOW!). WOW! will feature programs that consist of presentations, workshops and social events designed to ensure you successfully transition to campus.
UT's COVID-19 Task Force is working hard to identify what social distance measures will need to be followed in the Fall Semester. Until we are able to make those determinations, we are holding on publishing the Week of Welcome Fall 2020 calendar. We appreciate your patience.
In addition to the new student online program and Week of Welcome, transfer students on F1 visas will arrive for a special new international student orientation program. This also applies to new graduate international students within the Office of Graduate and Continuing Studies.
