The University of Tampa fully supports the efforts and welfare of all its students. One such avenue of support lies in the provision of reasonable accommodations to eligible students who may have disabilities as defined in the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). UT is fully committed to act in compliance with all ADA mandated requirements.

The University faculty and staff are mindful of the diversity of the student body and act in ways to promote the academic success of each individual. Academic Excellence Programs and Student Accessibility Services (SAS) are committed to the principles and practices of universal design and provides students with disabilities needed accommodations that equalize their access to the educational experience.

Our main goal is to encourage student growth towards self-advocacy and independence, and we will serve as a source of support and information for the student. Ultimately, the office believes in a student’s right to academic self-determination.

SAS actively promotes awareness of current disability issues and policies to the campus community.

Welcome to the Fall 2022 semester!

Current students: please reach out to us if you have any questions about generating your letter of accommodation. This letter of accommodation should be sent as soon as possible at the beginning of the semester in order to utilize your accommodations.

The Testing Center is moving! Starting in Fall 2022, the Testing Center will be located on the second floor of the newly constructed Technology Building and will feature enhanced exam/quiz security including additional proctoring cameras, increased number of proctors to monitor student examinations and glass windows that allow for Testing Center staff to constantly proctor students in the testing space.

Who do you work with at SAS?

We organize the students that we work with based on last name. The following guide will be helpful in finding the SAS staff member you will work with regarding your accommodations:

Zach McDowell: Last Name A—K

Gabe Wright: Last Name L—Z
