Matt Fenby ’16 had spring break circled in red on his calendar back in August. He’s not headed to the beach though. He’s heading for the snow, where he intends to spend the week on ice.

Fenby is one of UT’s No. 2 ranked ice hockey players heading to the 2016 ACHA Division III National Tournament in Michigan, where the team hopes to make Spartan history.

A team of nine University of Tampa students took first and second place in two of three categories in the regional Beta Alpha Psi Best Practices Competition, which was held at the 2016 Beta Alpha Psi Southeast Regional meeting in Birmingham on Feb. 27–28.

Beta Alpha Psi is an honorary organization for financial information students and professionals.

On Sunday, March 13, The University of Tampa’s Dobson pipe organ will get a workout with a program of music for two performers — that’s four hands and four feet — when the University welcomes duo organists Erik Suter and Chuyoung Suter. The concert, part of the PNC Bank Concert Artist Series at the Sykes Chapel and Center for Faith and Values, begins at 2 p.m. and is free and open to the public.

What does dance have to do with bullying, dating violence and suicide prevention? Find out the answer to that question on Thursday, March 3, when The University of Tampa’s Honors Program symposia series welcomes Andrew Carroll, assistant professor of dance at the University of South Florida, along with Susan Taylor Lennon, UT professor of dance. The event begins at 4 p.m. in Reeves Theater on the second floor of the Vaughn Center and is free and open to the public.

Sexual harassment in academia has come to the forefront in the past year with high-profile incidents at University of Chicago, California Institute of Technology and University of California, Berkeley.

In light of these recent events, and to help University of Tampa community members be informed about sexual harassment, identify sexual harassment and know what to do as a victim or witness of sexual harassment, UT is hosting a forum on sexual harassment.
