UT Incubator Company Wins $50,000 Grant in Johnson & Johnson Challenge

Lauren Wright, founder of a company called The Natural Nipple and a participant in The University of Tampa’s Lowth Entrepreneurship Center Spartan Incubator program, won first place and a $50,000 grant recently in the Johnson & Johnson Nurses Innovate QuickFire Challenge.

New Venture Expo Premieres New Products from UT Students

A UT first-year student pitching jewelry that detects date rape drugs, as well as a student who has developed ergonomic equipment which helps weight lifters prevent wrist injuries, took home top honors — and $1,000 prizes — at The University of Tampa Sykes College of Business’ Lowth Entrepreneurship Center’s third annual New Venture Exposition last week.

At the event, graduate and undergraduate students in entrepreneurship, along with Spartan Accelerator and Incubator program participants, presented 62 business concepts.

Three Alumni Honored by UT’s Lowth Entrepreneurship Center

Ray Ingersoll, Jason Reed and Evan Koorse, all University of Tampa alumni, were honored with alumni awards by UT’s Lowth Entrepreneurship Center for their professional and personal achievements.

Ray Ingersoll, a member of the Class of 1991, won the Outstanding Service to Entrepreneurs Award. He is the founder of The Ingersoll Group Inc., a consulting and training firm.

UT’s Lowth Entrepreneurship Center Named “Readers’ Pick” for Tampa Bay Business Journal’s Coolest Office Spaces 2018

The University of Tampa’s Lowth Entrepreneurship Center rose to the top as the Readers’ Pick award for the Tampa Bay Business Journal’s Coolest Office Spaces 2018.

More than 5,000 people voted in the poll, with UT receiving 24 percent of the vote.
