The University of Tampa Diplomats have proudly served the University and greater Tampa Bay community since 1983. Rooted in a tradition of service and leadership, Diplomats are student ambassadors who represent UTampa through their involvement across campus and their commitment to helping others.
Diplomats are selected for their leadership, character, ability to connect with others and commitment to service. As some of UTampa’s most engaged student leaders, members have opportunities to serve, lead, motivate and empower others while building meaningful connections throughout the University community.
Service is at the heart of the Diplomat experience. Each year, Diplomats support signature University traditions and events, including commencement, Fall Weekend and campus blood drives. They also partner with departments and organizations across UTampa to support events and programs throughout the year—serving wherever they can help create a welcoming and memorable experience for the campus community.

The UTampa Diplomats are proud to serve our campus community, and we would love to be part of your next event!
From signature University traditions and special events to programs hosted by departments and organizations across campus, Diplomats are ready to lend a hand and help create a welcoming experience for the UTampa community. Diplomats can assist with a variety of event needs, including welcoming and directing guests, registration and check-in, event setup and support, distributing materials and other volunteer roles.
If you have an upcoming University event where Diplomat support could make a difference, we encourage you to submit a Diplomat Request Form at least two weeks before your event. Providing advance notice gives us the best opportunity to share your request with our members and coordinate their participation.
When submitting your request, please provide an estimate of the number of Diplomats who would be helpful for your event and tell us how you'd like them to assist. We will work with you to determine the appropriate level of support based on your event needs and member availability.
While we cannot guarantee a specific number of Diplomats for every request, we welcome opportunities for our members to serve, connect with the campus community and represent UTampa.

Becoming a UTampa Diplomat is an opportunity to serve the University community, build connections across campus and grow alongside a group of engaged student leaders. We are looking for students who are enthusiastic about service, enjoy connecting with others and want to be actively involved in the UTampa community. Applicants are considered based on their commitment to service, leadership potential, interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively with others.
