Student Leadership Opportunities

The Office of Orientation and Family Engagement is supported by the efforts of students from multiple disciplines and departments.

 Move in 2024

OFE Interns provide high-quality support to students, families and campus visitors while assisting with administrative tasks related to new student orientation, family programs and commencement. This role offers hands-on experience in customer service, event logistics and office operations in a professional setting.

 

This position is required to work during Fall Weekend, December Commencement and May Commencement.

 

Compensation: $14 per hour

 

This position is open only to Student Success Scholars and Federal Work Study full-time undergraduate students.

Week of Welcome Interns will play a key role in recruiting, selecting, training and supervising student leaders for the Week of Welcome (WOW) program. This position also supports the coordination and execution of WOW events and assists in developing the leadership schedule and programming efforts. The intern will gain hands-on experience in student leadership development, event planning and program management. The Week of Welcome Interns will also provide administrative assistance for New Student Move-In.

Week of Welcome interns support the office’s outreach, branding and leadership communication efforts. This role offers a blend of hands-on experience in visual design, digital communications and team leadership. The intern will contribute to high-visibility projects, including designing branded materials, managing social media content and supervising the Week of Welcome leaders. The Week of Welcome Interns will also provide administrative assistance for New Student Move-In.

A group of energetic and dedicated students who assist in welcoming new and returning students and their families to campus. WOW! Leaders have a unique role in helping implement Week of Welcome through skills learned in required training before Week of Welcome and New Student Move In.
