The provost and vice president for academic affairs, Dr. Janet M. McNew, serves as the chief academic officer of the University. Her office oversees the following areas:

Prior to joining The University of Tampa in July 2006, McNew served as provost at Illinois Wesleyan University, where she also functioned as acting president for more than a year. Her academic experience includes positions as professor of English and department chair at St. John’s University in Minnesota.
