In an effort to support our "Learning by Thinking" philosophy, our department utilizes a scaffolded approach for presenting our students the theoretical knowledge necessary for being successful in the sport industry. Our curriculum has three tiers:
- Sport Management and Business Foundation Classes (for example, managerial accounting and introduction to sport management)
- Sport Management Segment Classes (for example, international sport management, professional selling in sport and media relations and communication)
- Sport Management Capstone Classes (for example, internship in sport management and seminar in sport management)
Sport Management Degree Requirements
This scaffolded approach also assists students with determining what's out there and what they want to do through in-depth research and review of varying segments within the sports industry.
A minor in sport management is also offered.
