Student flexing another student's foot

Moving beyond the books, University of Tampa students are encouraged to add value to their degree by participating in at least one internship. This type of experiential learning is key to making well-rounded graduates ready for the workforce. Not only do our students learn new skills, but they refine their career paths with real-world experiences.

Our students regularly engage in the following types of internship opportunities.

Allied Health and Public Health:

  • Hospitals – Students intern and shadow in area hospitals, gathering valuable experiences in their fields of study.
  • Shriners Hospital for Children – Students observe both physical and occupational therapy at this Tampa pediatric, orthopedic hospital.
  • Local Nonprofits – Students gain exposure to working in local nonprofit agencies such as the American Lung Association and the American Diabetes Association.
  • Wellness Programs on Campus – Students collaborate and lead one of the UT campus wellness programs.
