The Office of Career Services strongly advises you to participate in practice interviews, career fairs with employers, the etiquette dinner, speed networking programs and Career Services workshops, including workshops with employers as presenters.

Utilize your resources, including Optimal Job Search Tools, available through Career Services, to practice for an interview. In addition, attend the Global Diversity career fairs and the Global MBA/Masters Career Fair if appropriate.

When attending job fairs, company events and interviews, demonstrate how you are an asset to the company by targeting companies appropriately. Show how your background fits the company and the position. International students who have obtained positions successfully impressed company representatives because they were prepared. Thus, it is critical to research companies before your interviews and match yourself well to the position.

Companies are assessing your social and language skills and cultural fit with the company, not just your skills for the position. Strengthening your English language skills, if English is not your native language, may help you obtain an internship or full-time position after graduation.
