Career Specialties

Marissa Thompson has been a proud member of the University of Tampa community since 2020. In her role as the assistant director of internships, she looks forward to expanding employer partnerships, enhancing student career preparedness and developing programming that supports the Internships for All initiative recently launched by President Teresa Dahlberg. During her time at UTampa, she has worked as an academic advisor and most recently as assistant director of career readiness. Over the years, she has worked in both the Division of Academic Affairs and the Division of Student Affairs, and focused on helping Spartans discover their strengths, build professional confidence and connect their college experiences to future career goals.

Professional and Community

Thompson is a member of UTampa's Division of Student Affairs Professional Development Committee. Additionally, she is a member of the Colleges of Central Florida Career Consortium, National Association of Colleges and Employers, Southern Association of Colleges and Employers, and Florida Association of Colleges and Employers.
