Professional and Community Activities

Shang's research interests broadly focus on knowledge management, IT strategies, social media analysis, and data modeling and analytics. Additionally, she has a particular interest in how information and technology can assist in the healthcare industry and influence health behaviors. Her work has been published in peer-reviewed journals such as Information & Management, IEEE Transactions on Engineering Management, Journal of Management and Organization, Journal of the Knowledge Economy, Journal of Information Systems Education, International Journal of Strategic Communication, and International Journal of Knowledge Management. She has served as a reviewer for journals including Information & Management, Decision Support Systems, Information Systems Frontiers, International Journal of Strategic Communication, VINE Journal of Information and Knowledge Management Systems, and Asia Pacific Journal of Information Systems, as well as for various IS conferences. She has also served as an Associate Editor for IS conferences such as the annual European Conference on Information Systems (ECIS).
