Thomas G. Pittz has published three books and over 30 scholarly peer-reviewed journal articles in topics related to entrepreneurial ecosystems, open strategy and open innovation, social entrepreneurship, absorptive capacity and entrepreneurial ethics. His work has been featured in scholarly journal outlets such as the Journal of Business Ethics, Small Business Economics, the Journal of Business Research, the International Journal of Project Management and the Journal of Small Business Management.
Pittz teaches undergraduate, graduate, doctoral and executive learners at The University of Tampa. He is an award-winning teacher of entrepreneurship, innovation, strategy and international business and has produced impactful scholarship in some of the top academic journals in the field of management. He is heavily involved in scholarly service as the president and board chairperson for the United States Association of Small Business and Entrepreneurship (USASBE) and as a co-editor for the Journal of Small Business and Enterprise Development. Prior to working in academia, Pittz spent nearly two decades in industry and was a successful practicing entrepreneur.
