Perez is interested in juror and jury decision making as well as the factors that contribute to wrongful conviction.

Professional and Community Activities

Perez focuses on juror decision making. She has examined the relationship between mock jurors' religiosity and their perceptions of interrogation tactic coerciveness. She has also been involved in research related to juror perceptions of intoxicated suspects’ interrogation-related behaviors. More recently, Perez has also conducted research examining whether video-recordings can be a safeguard against jailhouse informant confessions.
