Career Specialties

Tressa Pedroff has over 25 years of clinical experience in the care of adults and older adults in the trauma/critical care setting. Areas of academic interest center on helping students to understand the specific needs of adult/older populations in the acute care setting. Additionally, she specializes in care of culturally diverse geriatrics in the community, including palliative and end-of-life care treatment options. Her research interests focus on palliative care, international travel abroad and the implementation of effective teaching strategies to improve student learning of difficult nursing concepts and clinical reasoning.

Professional and Community Activities

Pedroff is a current member of the American Nurses Association and the National League for Nursing. She was inducted into Sigma Theta Tau in 2003 and Phi Kappa Phi in 2019. She supports students with professional role development by assisting with the Student Nurse Association. Additionally, she encourages cultural competence and a greater global presence by leading international nursing travel courses to Latin America.
