Career Specialties: Rebecca Olsen specializes in health services research. Previous work includes qualitative and quantitative data collection and analysis, organizational and leadership performance, healthcare access, utilization, delivery, effectiveness, efficiency, patient safety and health outcomes.
Research: (1) Social and Behavioral Change - Health Promotion, Social Marketing, Program Development, Execution, and Evaluation; (2) Quality Improvement - Performance Measurement and Evaluation, Organizational Change, Leadership/Staff Development; (3) Healthcare - Patient/Staff Satisfaction, Access/Utilization, Outcomes
Professional and Community Activities: She has served as a management consultant for St. Joseph’s Hospital, St. Joseph’s Women’s Hospital, South Florida Baptist Hospital, All Children’s Hospital, Tampa Children’s Hospital, USF College of Medicine-Child Health Outcomes, Complex Chronic Pediatric Center, Pediatric Health Alliance and the Child Advocacy Center.
She has presented at conferences and seminars at numerous locations, including Baycare, St. Joseph’s Hospital, St. Joseph’s Women’s Hospital, Tampa Children’s Hospital, Florida Healthcare Quality Association and Suncoast Healthcare Executives.
Her community service work includes involvement with WIC utilization review, National 5-A-Day campaign program evaluation, Tampa Courthouse program evaluation of legal assistance to vulnerable populations, Plant High School behavior risk assessment (alcohol and drug use/violence) and National Ophelia Project program assessment in school systems.
She is a member of Leadership Tampa Bay, American Public Health Association, National Healthcare Executives and Florida Association of Healthcare Quality.
