Career Specialties
Angela Meyer Sterzik specializes in academic reading and reading-to-write for both native and non-native speakers of English. In addition, she has expertise in the theory and pedagogy of Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL).
Professional and Community Activities
Sterzik regularly presents at conferences at the regional, national and international levels, including the AILA World Congress of Applied Linguistics (2021), the Hawai'i International Conference on English and Literacy (2020), the International Association of TBLT Conference (2019), and the TESOL Asia International ESP Conference (2017) in the areas of critical reading, reading and writing pedagogy, needs analyses and second language teaching. She has also published in the Asian EFL Journal Quarterly (2018) and the TESL Canada Journal (2012).
Sterzik has taught in Austria, Germany and Canada and was very involved with Teachers of English as a Second Language (TESL) Ontario. She sat on TESL Ontario's College/University Committee, the Accreditation Standards Committee and was a member of the Accredited TESL Program Directors' Group. She is also an accredited TESOL teacher-trainer and Language Instructor by TESL Canada and TESL Ontario. She is a member of TESOL International, The American Association for Applied Linguistics, TESL Ontario and TESL Canada.
