Myles Lewis' academic interests lies at the intersection of human-computer interaction, artificial intelligence and computing education. His research explores how intelligent, adaptive and physiologically informed technologies can improve student engagement, learning experiences and confidence in computing.

Professional and Community Activities

Lewis' research lies at the intersection of human-computer interaction, artificial intelligence and computing education. He develops and evaluates intelligent, adaptive and physiologically informed technologies designed to improve student engagement, confidence and learning experiences in computing. His recent work has examined generative AI and gamification in code review, physiological computing in introductory programming, and brain–computer interfaces for hands-on STEM learning. This research has been published and presented at venues including the ACM CHI Conference on Human Factors in Computing Systems and the ACM Technical Symposium on Computer Science Education.

Beyond research, Lewis is committed to expanding access to computing education through student mentorship and community engagement. He has led outreach initiatives involving K–12 students, served on a regional-level nonprofit executive board and helped organize programs such as the Brain Drone Race and technical conferences, which introduce students to brain–computer interfaces, programming and emerging technologies.
