Dean A. Koutroumanis specializes in entrepreneurial startups, small business strategy and organizational behavior.
Koutroumanis' research interests include the development of human capital and the influence of employees on organizational dynamics. He has published over 20 peer-reviewed journal articles, cases and book chapters including, the Journal of Applied Business Research, Journal of Applied Business and Economics, Small Business Institute Journal, Journal of Organizational Culture, Communication and Conflict, Handbook of Hospitality and Tourism and Journal of Business and Entrepreneurship. His ongoing research explores how organizational culture impacts employee commitment and success, with a specific emphasis on the real estate and hospitality industries.
With a career spanning more than three decades, Koutroumanis has experienced success in the hospitality and real estate industries, at both the corporate level and as an entrepreneur. He has successfully launched various business enterprises, encompassing a diverse spectrum from restaurants and real estate brokerages to real estate development projects.
Koutroumanis has contributed as a board member and director for multiple Tampa Bay organizations, including nonprofit entities. He played a key role in launching the White Entrepreneurship Center at Clearwater Central Catholic High School, the first dedicated high school entrepreneurship center in the Tampa Bay area. Additionally, he is an evaluator for the Bailey Family Foundation, which provides over $2 million in scholarship opportunities for students across the U.S. annually.
