Erin Koterba specializes in developmental psychology. She is particularly interested in how communication develops and has studied this in typically developing children, preadolescents, and emerging adults and in infants and toddlers who are at risk for autism.
Koterba has a variety of peer-reviewed articles that have appeared in top-tier journals. Her current work focuses on communication online and young adults' ability to discern misinformation from fact. She currently has several additional projects in some stage of publication underway. Koterba is an active member of several research societies, including the Society for Research in Child Development and the Society for the Study of Emerging Adulthood. She frequently presents her work at the international meetings for these societies. Her work has been featured in the popular press, including the Today Show, Cosmopolitan magazine and various websites.
