Career Specialties

Tim Hart’s areas of academic interest include applied statistics and quantitative methodologies, geographic information systems (GIS), environmental criminology, and victimization.

Professional and Community Activities

Hart's current research activities focus on internationalizing his research profile, developing innovative quantitative analytic methods, and making scholarly advances in environmental criminology and victimization research. During the 2023-2024 school year, he published his third textbook, “Statistics for the Average Criminology Student: A Guide to Criminological Data Analysis and Interpretation”.  In addition, he co-authored an article on "Top 10 Policing" as an alternative place-based patrol strategy with Professor Nathan Connealy, which appeared in the journal Policing Practice and Research.

He also continued to sever the broader Tampa Bay community by volunteering as the Even Director for the Weedon Island Preserve parkrun and serving as a Board Member of the Boca Ciega High School’s Pirate Athletics Hall of Fame.
