Geralds' teaching philosophy emphasizes interactive, student-centered learning through problem-based learning and simulation. By engaging learners in clinically authentic scenarios, she aims to strengthen critical thinking, collaboration, and the practical application of medical knowledge.
Geralds' scholarly activity focuses on innovative teaching methods, prevention, and community health engagement. She has contributed to NIH/NIDA–funded opioid research, developed interprofessional and art-based learning initiatives to strengthen clinical reasoning, and presented nationally on active learning and simulation in PA education. In addition to mentoring student research, Geralds has partnered with organizations such as the DEA and American Heart Association to advance public health education, patient safety, and community wellness.
