Career Specialties

Elena Franqui joined the Diversity, Equity and Inclusion team on Aug. 1, 2022. She has worked at UT for a total of 27 years including her time as a student and full-time employee. Franqui has worked in the Financial Aid office, the Macdonald-Kelce Library and Residence Life.

Franqui has served on several committees during her time at UT: the Strategic Planning Committee for Student Affairs, the UT Activity Committee, the Faculty/ Staff Workshop Committee and the committee that generated the Family Communication Philosophy. She also served as a Workday Change Ambassador.

Franqui is a military brat and appreciates the exposure to different environments, cultures and food that traveling provided. Japan was a favorite! She and her partner, Nat, have been together 12 years and they have one cat, Koko (or Koko-puff as they like to call her). Franqui is a huge Broadway fan, loves most kinds of music, crafting, reading and also enjoys playing RPG video games.

Franqui loves working at UT and takes pride in working with students and developing relationships with those around her.

She previously attended New Mexico State University at Alamogordo and hopes to be continuing her education at UT.
