Career Specialties

Fan's academic interests focus on Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), particularly the design and teaching of HCI-related courses within computer science. Fan is especially interested in human-centered design, user experience and integrating design thinking into computing education.

Professional and Community Activities

Fan's research focuses on Human-Computer Interaction (HCI) and computing education, especially human-centered education, design empathy and CS/HCI pedagogy. Jixiang's recent work has been published and presented at venues including SIGCSE, CHI, CSCW, FIE, EduCHI and ASEE. He also contributes to the HCI and computing education communities through research collaboration, conference participation and peer review.
